PCIe to Serial: Background
For the past few years, the serial interface (once used extensively to connect computers with various peripherals such as: mice, printers, keyboards, terminals, modems) is disappearing from new laptops and PC designs. This trend is reinforced by OEMs introducing new devices with no serial connection.

Jungo's PCIe-to-Serial solution enables to continue using legacy serial applications unmodified, while communicating with the peripherals via PCI Express. The solutions includes a two-layered driver that interacts with the PC's serial interface, while maintaining regular PCI Express resources access on the device side.

Because PCI Express designs are not generic, some modifications must be made to the driver in the lower layer to make it compatible with each specific PCI Express card.
