3.2 Selecting the Tests to Execute

The next step is to select the various tests to perform on your test device, as demonstrated in Figure 3.2 below.
In the tests selection form, which appears in the right pane, you can choose between the Test Modules tab and the Test Suites tab.
In the Test Modules tab you can see a list of all available tests, grouped by functionality (USB chapter 9 tests; USB Mass Storage tests; etc.). You can double-click any test in this tab to add it to you test project. The tests you have selected will be displayed in the left pane.
In the Test Suites tab you can select test suites for an entire topic (e.g. Chapter 9; mass storage performance). Double-clicking a suite will add all its tests to your test project in the left pane.
You can remove tests from your test project at any time by right-clicking the selected test in the right pane and choosing Delete.

When selecting a test in your test project, the test's description appears in the Test Description pane at the bottom of the form. The test's parameters (if any), including the default value for each parameter, are displayed in the Test Properties pane in the center of the form. You are free to modify the value of any test parameter in the Value column. You can also add your own text to the test's name, as it appears in your project tree, by entering text in the Description text box.

You can save your test project at any time for future use; load a previously saved test project; or clear your project and begin a new one. These options are available via the tests selection form's toolbar icons and Project menu. A saved project can also be loaded from the command line using the test application's /Execute command [4.2].

After creating your desired test project, click the Select Device For Testing button or the traffic light toolbar icon to display the Device Tree form, from which you can select your test device, as explained in the next section.
