What operating systems and their respective versions does WinDriver support?




PCI/ISA

WinDriver PCI/ISA supports the following operating systems:

  • Windows:
    • On x86 32-bit: Windows 7, Vista, Server 2008, Server 2003, XP, and 2000
    • On x86 64-bit: Windows 7, Vista x64, Server 2008 x64, Server 2003 x64, Server 2003 x64, XP x64
  • Windows CE:
    • On x86, MIPS, and ARM: Windows Embedded CE v6.0 and Windows CE version 4.x – 5.0 (.NET).
    • On ARMV4I: Windows Mobile 5.0 and 6.0
  • Mac OS X:
    • On x86 32-bit: Mac OS X 10.5.x and 10.6.x
    • On x86 64-bit (x86_64): Mac OS X 10.6.x
    • On PowerPC 32-bit: Mac OS X 10.5.x

    NOTE:

    • Jungo strives to support new Mac OS X versions as close as possible to their release. To find out the latest supported versions, refer to the WinDriver release notes.
    • WinDriver for Mac OS X supports PCI and PCI Express hardware. It does not support ISA, EISA, and CardBus hardware.

  • Linux:
    • On x86 32-bit: Linux 2.2.x – 2.6.x kernels
    • On x86 64-bit (x86_64): Linux 2.4.x – 2.6.x kernels
    • On PowerPC 32-bit: Linux 2.4.x – 2.6.x kernels
    • On PowerPC 64-bit: Linux 2.6.x kernels

    NOTE: Jungo strives to support new Linux kernel versions as close as possible to their release. To find out the latest supported kernel version, refer to the latest WinDriver release notes.

  • Solaris: WinDriver version 9.0.1 supports:
    • On SPARC 32-bit and 64-bit: Solaris 8, 9, 10 and OpenSolaris
    • On x86 32-bit: Solaris 8, 9, 10 and OpenSolaris
  • VxWorks — WinDriver version 5.4.
    WinDriver for VxWorks is also known as DriverBuilder.
NOTE
Earlier versions of WinDriver PCI/ISA also support Windows 98/Me; Windows NT 4.0; Windows NT Embedded; Windows 95; Linux Itanium and Itanium 2 (IA64); Linux 2.0.x (from kernel 2.0.31); Solaris versions 2.6 and 7.0 (on x86), Solaris 32-bit SPARC; and Windows CE 2.x-3.x.

USB

WinDriver USB supports the following operating systems:

  • Windows:
    • On x86 32-bit: Windows 7, Vista, Server 2008, Server 2003, XP, and 2000
    • On x86 64-bit: Windows 7, Vista x64, Server 2008 x64, Server 2003 x64, Server 2003 x64, XP x64
  • Windows CE:
    • On x86, MIPS, and ARM: Windows Embedded CE v6.0 and Windows CE version 4.x – 5.0 (.NET).
    • On ARMV4I: Windows Mobile 5.0 and 6.0
  • Linux:
    • On x86 32-bit: Linux 2.4.x – 2.6.x kernels

WinDriver PCMCIA supports the following operating systems:
