Hardware Debugger

Hardware Debugger is a graphical tool for detection, diagnostics and testing of custom hardware, designed to meet the needs of the hardware developer by enabling quick and easy testing of hardware without writing any code.

Hardware Debugger runs under Linux, Solaris, Windows (Vista, XP, Server 2003 and Windows CE/Mobile). Also known as DriverWizard (when bought as part of WinDriver).

Benefits:
  • Automatic detection and quick access to hardware. Save precious development time via the immediate access and control feature
  • No programming knowledge required. All testing can be done by the hardware developer, without writing any code.
  • Generate working driver using WinDriver Rapid deployment of the work done during hardware development into a working driver

Hardware Access Features:
  • Detects existing Plug-'n-Play devices (PCI/USB) connected to the bus, including devices residing beyond a PCI-to-PCI bridge or a USB hub.
  • Provides the following data for each detected device:
    • Physical location
    • Vendor ID and Device / Product ID
    • Device's resources namely interrupts, IO and memory (for PCI devices) and configuration, interface, alternate settings and endpoints data (for USB devices)
  • Hardware verification and debugging:
    • Read / Write to the PCI configuration space
    • Transfer data through USB pipes
    • Manually enter resources of ISA cards and access them
    • Read / Write to memory buffers
    • Read / Write to IO ranges
    • Listen to interrupts
    • Define and access new memory buffers, interrupts or registers
  • Debug Monitor and Log

System Requirements:

Operating Systems:
  • Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, XP Embedded, Vista, Server 2003 (with x86)
  • Windows CE 4.2-5.0 (with x86, MIPS and ARM)
  • Linux2.0.31-2.6.x (with x86 and PPC)
  • Solaris Solaris versions 8.0 & 9.0 (with SPARC 32 bit or x86)
Please note: Hardware Debugger does not include the DriverWizard code generation capabilities. To gain automatic driver code generation please refer to WinDriver.

To Evaluate Hardware Debugger - download WinDriver for your operating system and run DriverWizard from:
