Getting Started

Connecting your computer or home network to the gateway is a simple procedure, varying slightly depending on your operating system.

The setup is designed to seamlessly integrate OpenRG with your computer or home network. Moreover, zero-configuration is attained when taking advantage of Universal Plug-and-Play support in Windows XP.

The Windows default network settings dictate that in most cases the setup procedure described below will be unnecessary. For example, the default DHCP setting in Windows 2000 is 'client', requiring no further modification.

However, it is advised to follow the setup procedure described below to verify that all communication parameters are valid and that the physical cable connections are correct.

Evaluators and developers should consult the accompanying reference design documentation for basic hardware-specific configuration instructions.
