Jungo Releases OpenRG Version 1.3 - Adds USB Slave and RNDIS Modules, and Support for IDT's Integrated Communication ProcessorsSan Jose, Calif., June 30, 2002 - Jungo Software Technologies, a leading provider of residential gateway software and technologies today announced the availability of Version 1.3 of OpenRG - Jungo's embedded software platform for broadband access devices. In Version 1.3, OpenRG delivers Universal Serial Bus (USB) and RNDIS modules, as well as enhanced security features, compliance with ICSA Version 4.0 criteria for Firewall certification, and support for the IDT RC32334 and IDTRC32332 integrated communications processors and the 79S334J evaluation board (optimized for wireless LAN, and SOHO and residential gateways). OpenRG's small footprint Universal Serial Bus (USB) stack offers an industry standard data communication channel between master and slave devices. OpenRG USB slave support provides for the connection of LAN PCs to the gateway utilizing the standard USB connector available on most PCs. OpenRG now also includes Remote NDIS (RNDIS), a bus-independent class specification for Ethernet (802.3) network devices, offering seamless communication within the local network. OpenRG currently supports all specifications for the pending WHQL certification for USB and RNDIS. OpenRG Version 1.3 additions and further enhancements include new configuration tools, predefined security levels, refined logging capabilities for comprehensive management and persistency support for protection against power failures and accidental reboots. Service providers and MSOs can now fully control their subscriber firewall through remote access to OpenRG management. OpenRG's VPN package now provides improved logging capabilities, enhanced key exchange management, and more flexible creation methods. OpenRG Version 1.3 supports IDT's RC32334/2 processors and compliments the IDT 79S334J reference platform that incorporates advanced system management functions to simplify the installation, management and network configuration functions required for gateway products. The IDT/Jungo high performance, low cost reference design enables system vendors and service providers to accelerate time to market and cost-effectively develop and deploy products using a broadband access line.
