Customers: US Robotics deploy CPE Based Web Filtering Solution from Jungo and SurfControl

U.S. Robotics has started to deploy a subscription based Web filtering service through its USR8200 FW/VPN Router powered by Jungo's OpenRG home/SOHO gateway software. The Web filtering service is based on a joint solution developed by Jungo and SurfControl (London:SRF), the world leader in enterprise Web and e-mail filtering. This powerful solution creates a new revenue opportunity for service providers and an enhanced services platform for the end user that are now protected from offensive and inappropriate Internet content. Small and medium businesses also benefit from this service by preventing lost productivity caused by unrestricted Internet access.

Mike Wolf, a Senior Analyst with In-Stat/MDR and the author of the 'Broadband CPE 2004: Gateways Giddy-Up While Modems Ride Into the Sunset', comments on the service that SurfControl and Jungo can offer SOHO users: "The need for strong content control in today's home is essential, and the logical place for that is at the gateway. Jungo and SurfControl's partnership provides CPE manufacturers with a ready solution that adds significant value to the end-user."
