Korg Uses Jungo's USB Stack to Introduce High Speed USB Connectivity in its New Electronic Keyboard Models
Korg integration of Jungo's USBware embedded USB software enables musicians to access standard USB storage devices directly from Korg's electronic keyboards
ANCONA, Italy and SAN JOSE, Calif -- February 6th, 2006
Korg Italy S.P.A., a leading manufacturer of innovative
musical instruments, and Jungo Ltd., a leading provider of
embedded USB software solutions, today announced that
Jungo’s USBware Host stack and Mass Storage Class Driver
has been successfully integrated into Korg’s new line of
electronic arranger keyboards. Fully USB 2.0 compliant,
Jungo’s USBware offers a high-quality, production ready,
and fully-featured Host/Device/On-The-Go implementation of the
Universal Serial Bus (USB) standard protocols and class
drivers.
"Jungo’s complete and ready-made USB Host and Mass
Storage class driver solution allowed us to quickly incorporate
standard USB within our products, offering our musician’s
more flexibility than ever to connect to their favorite USB
storage device for data exchange or even CD-mastering,” said Jurgen Schmitz, R&D manager
with Korg’s Italian subsidiary. "Jungo’s
OS agnostic and hardware independent USB implementation enabled
us to integrate the stack in our proprietary OS driven platform
and get the next version of our products to the market
quickly."
"Jungo's USBware offers a high-quality and small footprint
embedded USB software protocol stacks, designed specifically for
the embedded market, allowing OEMs to easily incorporate standard
USB connectivity in their designs”, said Omry Ben David,
Marketing Manager for Jungo's Software Tools Division. "Korg
Italy S.p.A. has selected Jungo to enable USB connectivity in
their keyboards, further reinforcing Jungo’s position as a
market leader in USB software”.
With over 3 billion devices using standard USB connectivity,
USB has emerged as the de-facto standard for connecting host PCs
and USB peripherals. Revolutionizing the PC world, USB host
capabilities have by now migrated to the embedded arena
penetrating Set-Top Boxes, Mobile Phones, Digital Cameras,
Medical Devices and other digital products such as Korg’s
electronic keyboards. The USB seamless, high-speed, driver-less
interface has enabled these embedded hosts to communicate
directly with peripherals such as flash memory applications, HID
devices and portable electronic equipment.
Korg’s new line of electronic arranger keyboards will be
presented to the public later this year.
Jungo will showcase its USBware software solution at the
upcoming Embedded World exhibition in Nuremberg, Germany,
February 14-16, Hall 10.0 Stand 118 and at the Embedded Systems
Conference in San Jose, CA April 3-7, Booth 134.
