Learn on yet another successful integration of our products

Delphi Engineering provides high-performance, real-time signal acquisition solutions for the Aerospace, Defense and Communication Industries. Delphi's ADC3100 and ADC3200 are PCI Mezzanine Cards (PMC) high-speed analog to digital converter modules with on-board digital filtering. The Delphi family of high performance digitizers are perfectly suited for supporting a broad range of wideband and ultra-wideband applications.

For the initial development Delphi provides users with the ADCView, a Windows application developed with MS Visual C++ 6.0. ADCView enables full board control, sample data retrieval from on-board buffers, and sample data analysis. Delphi’s customers can use this application for testing before integrating the boards with high-performance, real-time applications running on Linux, Vxworks or other systems.

Delphi chose Jungo’s WinDriver PCI driver development toolkit because “we needed a robust driver solution so we could accelerate product time to market by leveraging the WinDriver toolkit”, said Brian Magnuson, R&D engineer at Delphi.

“The driver has to be cross platform and compatible with all current Windows platforms, including WinNT 4.0, and future Windows versions. Using WinDriver, we are able to concentrate on our core business and let Jungo handle the continuous support for current and future Windows versions.

Additional driver requirements were to control multiple types of 32 and 64 bit boards concurrently and respond quickly to PCI interrupts generated by the boards. Fortunately, the PCI driver developed using WinDriver handles these tasks easily.”

Delphi uses the WinDriver based driver as the foundation for controlling its boards via ADCView. Running on Microsoft Windows, ADCView offers a signal visualization application, which displays sampled data graphically. Users can configure sampling parameters such as: sampling delay/length and IRQ operations, triggering options, and, exporting the data to Matlab. Delphi distributes ADCView to customers as an aid to their development efforts for testing and integration or as an alternative to developing their own board interface applications. After the initial testing phase the board can be integrated and used on high-performance systems running real time OSs such as Vxworks facilitating the requirement for rapid signal conversion.
