Altera bundles Jungo's WinDriver Software in the Altera PCI Development Kits

WinDriver Toolkit Speeds Device Driver Development for Altera's PCI Offerings

Sunnyvale, Calif., January 22nd, 2002- Jungo Software Technologies, Inc., and Altera Corporation (Nasdaq: ALTR) further strengthened their long-standing partnership by announcing today their collaboration to offer a solution to speed development of device drivers for Altera's latest PCI Development Kits. A 30-day evaluation version of Jungo's WinDriver device driver development toolkit is now bundled with Altera's FLEX® and APEX™ PCI Development Kits featuring the PCI Compiler MegaCore® function.

Enabling the creation of high-performance device drivers, the WinDriver software features a graphical development environment, intuitive application programming interfaces (APIs), hardware diagnostic utilities, and device driver samples. WinDriver includes libraries of code customized for Altera's peripheral component interconnect (PCI) solutions that provide pre-programmed registers, interrupt handling, and master/slave direct memory access (DMA) to further accelerate driver development.

Altera's FLEX and APEX PCI Development Kits include the Jungo driver development toolkit, a PCI development board, a source code reference design, and supporting hardware and software to rapidly develop PCI applications. Designers can plug Altera's PCI development boards into any PCI slot, install the provided application software and, with the Jungo PCI driver development tools, immediately observe transactions across the PCI local bus.
