AudioCodes Selects Jungo GO-HotSwap SolutionAudioCodes First to Market with CompactPCI Hot-Swappable VoIP
Communication Board using Jungo's GO-HotSwap; OS Extension, which includes a powerful driver development toolkit, enables hot-swap capabilities for CompactPCI hardware on all major operating systems, and on any available system board. Using these tools, telecom/datacom vendors can now implement CompactPCI hot-swap capabilities on Windows 2000, NT, NT-Embedded, CE, 9x, Linux, Solaris and VxWorks, where these capabilities are not natively available. AudioCodes' TP-400 VoIP Communication Board is a high-density, CompactPCI media streaming board with capacity of 120 independent channels. The TP-400 board is powered by AudioCodes' VoIP DSP communication chips, which support industry standard codecs such as G.723.1, G.729A, G.711, and T.38, as well as AudioCodes' proprietary NetCoder along with silence suppression and state of the art echo cancellation. Voice, fax, and data traffic can be auto-detected by the board and the user can specify how to process each media type. "To date, The TP-400 is the only VoIP Communications Board that is fully hot-swappable under all major operating systems", said Amir Inbar, GO-HotSwap product marketing manager. "Given the need to reduce system down time for the Telecom market under Linux, Solaris and Windows NT, Jungo's GO-HotSwap; OS Extension is a natural fit". Using the GO-HotSwap; OS Extension, AudioCodes' customers gain the advantage of live insertion/extraction of CompactPCI cards into a CompactPCI based back plane, for periodic maintenance and system upgrades. "Jungo's GO-HotSwap; offering fits nicely into our TP-400 VoIP Communications Board offering" said Yossi Yavin VP Marketing at AudioCodes. "Being an industry leader, we are determined to provide best of breed capabilities in our VoIP Communication Boards offering". The GO-HotSwap OS Extension enables users to immediately add hot-swap capabilities to their existing PCI drivers or to easily develop hot-swappable drivers from scratch. The resulting code will compile and run on all supported operating systems. Jungo's GO-HotSwap also transparently supports all CompactPCI hardware, i.e. it is not dependent on the hardware configuration on which it is running or the host PCI controller it is using.
