Floware Selects Jungo GO-HotSwap Solution

Using Jungo GO-HotSwap, Floware the first to use a wireless broadband access system with a generic Hot Swap solution for CompactPCI

Sunnyvale, Calif., April 19, 2001 - Jungo Software Technologies Inc., a leading provider of hardware access and high-availability solutions, announced today that Floware Wireless Systems Ltd. (NASDAQ: FLRE), a leading supplier of wireless broadband access technologies and systems, has chosen to implement cPCI Hot Swap capabilities within its broadband wireless access system using Jungo Go-HotSwap software infrastructure. As a result, the Floware WALKair 3000 Point-to-Multi-Point (PMP) broadband wireless access system is now fully Hot Swappable.

Go-HotSwap is a complete software infrastructure that adds the necessary modules enabling CompactPCI Hot Swap under operating systems that do not natively support Hot Swap. It provides the mechanism to enable Hot Swap by detection of Hot Swap events, dynamic resource allocation, re-enumeration, events notifications and automatic initiation of the software connection and disconnection processes. Go-HotSwap provides the tools and development environment to develop Hot Swappable drivers, and also includes a Configuration Manager that enables Hot Swap capabilities with legacy PCI drivers.

Using Go-HotSwap, telecom/datacom vendors can implement CompactPCI Hot Swap capabilities under VxWorks, Linux, Solaris, Windows 2000, NT and 9x, where these capabilities are not natively supported.

Floware's WALKair 3000 is a Point-to-Multi-Point (PMP) broadband wireless access system that enables new telecom operators to easily and cost effectively connect business subscribers to their network. WALKair 3000 utilizes dynamic bandwidth allocation to maximize bandwidth capacity and offer a wide range of high-speed data and voice services.

WALKair 3000's architecture is a combination of base stations and terminals whereby the base stations broadcast to the terminals. A crucial requirement was that all peripheral components on the WALKair base station shelf would be Hot Swap capable.

"By choosing to incorporate GO-HotSwap into the WALKair 3000 base station, Floware is now able to offer a complete Hot Swappable system," said Roy Tannenbaum, Go-HotSwap product manager at Jungo.

"GO-HotSwap enabled our engineers to focus on implementation of core technologies and thus facilitated Floware in reducing time to market of our WALKair 3000 system," said Amir Freund, SVP R&D from Floware.

"WALKair 3000's modular structure allows for a minimal upfront investment by new telecom operators, allowing expansion of the system over time. Furthermore, by using GO-HotSwap, which supports all CompactPCI hardware, Floware is not restricted to any specific third party hardware. Thus, Floware can now offer its customers a completely generic solution." "Provision of innovative solutions for telecom and time critical applications markets reaffirms our commitment to become leaders in this field," said Amir Inbar, marketing director at Jungo.
