Jungo GO-HotSwap Incorporated in Spectrum Signal Processing Barcelona Hot Swap Product Offering

Spectrum Signal Processing now provides a Hot Swap software infrastructure and Hot Swap aware drivers with the Barcelona Hot Swap Board using Jungo GO-HotSwap.

Sunnyvale, Calif., Aug 27th, 2001- Jungo Software Technologies Inc., a leading provider of hardware access and high-availability software solutions and Spectrum Signal Processing (NASDAQ: SSPI / TSE: SSY), a leading supplier of high-density solutions for wireless signal and Voice over Packet processing, announced today that Jungo GO-HotSwap has been chosen to provide the Hot Swap software support for the Barcelona Hot Swap (HS) board under VxWorks 5.4.

Barcelona HS is the only general- purpose CompactPCI digital signal processing board on the market today that supports Hot Swap. This makes it suitable for a wide variety of high availability applications including cellular base stations, satellite gateways and hubs, signal monitoring, surveillance and tactical radio systems.

GO-HotSwap is a complete software infrastructure that provides low-level software modules enabling CompactPCI Hot Swap under operating systems that do not natively support Hot Swap, namely VxWorks 5.4, Linux, Solaris, Windows 98, NT/2000 and XP.

Without the proper software support, the Hot Swap functionality of the CompactPCI hardware cannot be utilized. GO-HotSwap provides the mechanism to support Hot Swap by detection of Hot Swap events, dynamic resource allocation, re-enumeration, events notifications and automatic initiation of the software connection and disconnection processes. GO-HotSwap also provides the tools and development environment to develop Hot Swap aware drivers.

"GO-HotSwap enabled our development team to focus on core technologies rather than developing an in-house Hot Swap solution, thus reducing the time to market for the Barcelona HS board" said Randy Tkatch, Vice President, Wireless Engineering of Spectrum Signal Processing.

Using GO-HotSwap, the Barcelona HS board's Hot Swap capabilities can now be fully utilized. "Spectrum Signal can now provide their customers with a convenient, one-stop solution, freeing them from Hot Swap software implementation," said Roy Tannenbaum, GO-HotSwap product manager at Jungo, "Given the need to reduce system down time for the high availability market under VxWorks and other operating systems, Jungo's GO-HotSwap software infrastructure is a natural fit."
