Jungo Announces Version 5.03 Release of Driver Development Tools and CompactPCI Hot Swap Software

WinDriver and KernelDriver to support Windows XP (RC1) and Linux 2.4x Kernels; WinDriver to support Windows CE 3.0

Sept 12th, 2001 (Sunnyvale, California)- Jungo Software Technologies Inc. (www.jungo.com) announced today the release of version 5.03 of its driver development tools (WinDriver / KernelDriver / Hardware Debugger) and CompactPCI Hot Swap software (GO-HotSwap). The new release includes support for Linux 2.4x kernels, as well as WinDriver, KernelDriver and Hardware Debugger support for Windows XP (RC1) and WinDriver support for Windows CE 3.0.

Based on Jungo's cross-platform technology, drivers developed using WinDriver or KernelDriver (current or previous versions) may be ported to the newly supported operating systems without additional code modification. "The release of version 5.03 affirms Jungo's commitment to continuously provide support for major operating systems, as they are released," said Roy Tannenbaum, Product Marketing Manager at Jungo.

Version 5.03 also introduces various enhancements including Linux and Solaris versions of the Debug Monitor (Jungo's graphical debugging utility), previously available under the Windows version only. Comprehensive release notes for all versions can be viewed at http://www.jungo.com/wdver.html and http://www.jungo.com/st/ghsver.html.

About WinDriver
WinDriver is a driver development toolkit that simplifies the creation of monolithic device drivers for custom hardware. WinDriver includes a graphical development environment, APIs, diagnostic and debug utilities and samples, which enable quick development of high performance drivers under Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP, Windows CE, Linux, Solaris, and VxWorks. WinDriver supports USB/PCI/CompactPCI/ISA/ISAPnP and EISA hardware. The development process does not require knowledge of operating system internals or the DDK.

About KernelDriver
KernelDriver is a driver development toolkit that simplifies the creation of kernel mode drivers, especially Layered (Filter and Miniport) and Standard drivers. KernelDriver automates Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP and Linux device driver development by providing powerful tools for hardware debugging, driver code generation, and driver debugging. KernelDriver supports USB/PCI/CompactPCI/ISA/ISAPnP and EISA hardware. KernelDriver is a robust set of C++ classes that encapsulate long and complicated DDK tasks on Windows NT/2000.

About Hardware Debugger
Hardware Debugger is a "Point and Click" application which allows detection of USB/PCI/CompactPCI/ISA/ISAPnP/EISA hardware and it's resources, without having to develop a driver. Hardware Debugger enables engineers to diagnose and verify untested hardware under Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP, Linux and Solaris. Hardware Debugger for PCI enables accessing memory and I/O ranges, listening to interrupts and defining and accessing registers. Hardware Debugger for USB allows monitoring and transferring of data through pipes.

About GO-HotSwap
GO-HotSwap is a PICMG compliant, cross platform, Full Hot Swap software infrastructure for Windows 98/NT/2000, Linux, Solaris and VxWorks 5.4. It plugs into the operating system and adds all the necessary software modules required to support CompactPCI Hot Swap, such as Hot Swap events detection, dynamic resource allocation (while the system is running), PCI registers initialization, re-enumeration and automatic initiation of software connection/disconnection processes.

GO-HotSwap provides a simple-to-use API and a Configuration Manager to make existing drivers Hot Swap aware. Should new drivers need to be developed from scratch, GO-HotSwap also includes Jungo's powerful driver development toolkits -WinDriver and KernelDriver.

Availability
Free full featured, 30 day evaluation versions of WinDriver, KernelDriver, Hardware Debugger and GO-HotSwap 5.03 are available for download from the Jungo web site at: www.jungo.com/dnload.html. Jungo products may be purchased from Jungo directly, or via one of Jungo's worldwide resellers.
