Jungo Announces WinDriver Version 5.1 (beta)USB support under Windows NT April 3rd, 2001 (Jungo, Israel): - Jungo has released WinDriver beta version 5.10, supporting USB under Windows NT.Jungo's driver development tools offer hardware access and driver code generation capabilities, through a rich API. Until now, this API supported the Universal Serial Bus (USB) under Windows 98, Windows 2000 and Windows CE. Since Windows NT 4.0 predates these operating systems with native USB support (Microsoft provides this stack with Windows 98/Me/2000/CE) , it does not support USB. The Jungo R&D team has developed a USB stack for Windows NT, so that WinDriver beta Version 5.1 now offers the WinDriver API with USB support under Windows NT. Currently this support is available for UHC type controllers only. This allows developers of USB devices to develop client USB device drivers using Windows NT as their operating system. Furthermore, thanks to WinDriver's cross platform capabilities, you can now develop USB drivers under any Windows operating system that WinDriver USB supports (NT, 98, 2000 or CE) and have a USB driver that will be compatible to the other supported operating systems.
