QuickLogic's QuickPCI™ Supported By Device Driver

.
WinDriver for QuickLogic

WinDriver™ toolkit enables rapid creation of drivers for Windows and embedded systems.

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -January 17, 2000 -- QuickLogic Corporation (Nasdaq: QUIK), a pioneer of ESP (Embedded Standard Product) technology, and KRFTech, a provider of device-driver toolkits, today announced a cooperative effort to provide device driver support for QuickLogic's QuickPCI family. This new driver support is based on KRFTech's WinDriver product, which enables developers to rapidly create custom device drivers that run on multiple operating systems.

WinDriver for QuickLogic is a ready-made library that automates the process of developing drivers for QuickLogic's QuickPCI devices, and allows those drivers to run on Windows 2000, 98, 95, NT, Windows CE, Linux, Solaris and OS/2 operating systems. The WinDriver package frees the designer from the task of mastering their operating system's kernel architecture or Device Driver Kit (DDK), guides the developer through the process of hardware verification, then writes the driver code for the specific hardware. Not only does this process speed the development of the driver software, it also accelerates testing and development of the hardware itself.

"The combination of KRFTech and QuickPCI technology means that developers are now equipped with an improved set of tools that could dramatically shorten development time for QuickLogic-based designs," said Jon Park, product marketing manager for QuickLogic.

"We are pleased that QuickLogic views robust device driver support as essential to their PCI offering, and that they have chosen our tools," said Ofer Vilenski, president of KRFTech. "WinDriver will allow QuickLogic's customers to write a device driver in just a few hours."

QuickLogic's QuickPCI Family

The QuickPCI family combines high-performance embedded PCI controllers with high-speed programmable logic to create a unique system-level solution for design engineers. QuickPCI devices match the integration and performance levels of standard products with the flexibility of programmable logic. This approach eliminates the uncertainty associated with evaluating and implementing soft IP for FPGAs, while providing greater flexibility than standard-product PCI devices.
