NT/NTE/CE, thus providing a complete solution for the development of USB drivers on all
Microsoft operating systems.
April 17th, 2000 (KRFTech, Israel): Jungo Ltd.(Formerly KRFTech) announced today
the release of the WinDriver USB device drivers development
toolkit for Windows CE, and the upcoming launch
of WinDriver USB for Windows NT and NT Embedded. WinDriver dramatically shortens the
development cycle of device drivers for USB to only several hours. By adding the support
for USB on Windows NT, NTE and CE (to WinDriver's existing Windows 9x and 2000), Jungo (Formerly KRFTech)
powerful "WinDriver" product line will now completely support all of the Microsoft
operating systems.
Universal serial bus devices are becoming extremely popular in the consumer market, due
to their small form factor, plug-and-play capabilities, and the ability to connect a
large number of devices to a USB port. However, USB devices have not been used in
environments where Windows NT is the platform of choice, because that operating system
has not provided USB support. This will now change. Jungo (Formerly KRFTech) "WinDriver USB for Windows
NT" enables USB capabilities on Windows NT and NT Embedded. Vendors can now distribute
their products to millions of customers using the Windows NT operating system, thus
opening new markets and opportunities for hardware vendors, and for the Windows NT
operating system.
WinDriver USB saves USB developers the need to learn the operating system kernel and
provides a set of stable, efficient, robust and easy to understand API to access the USB
device.

WinDriver USB includes the DriverWizard, which enables the developer to detect and
diagnose the USB hardware by using graphical tools and to ensure the hardware functions
as expected before starting the driver code development. The DriverWizard also
automatically generates the driver code for the developers, with a library which is
specifically suited to the specific hardware.
The support for USB devices on Windows NT/NTE/CE completes the WinDriver USB support for other Windows platforms. The
same USB driver code generated for any of the Microsoft operating systems will run as-is
on all of them. Porting the code to other Windows operating system is easy - just
recompile and run! . The cross platform capability provides the USB vendor access to the
whole Windows market with one code base.
Another powerful feature of WinDriver is the ability to develop the driver on an NT
machine and then use the CE emulator to run and debug the driver. Thus, coding and
debugging on the same machine.
