ICET Selects Jungo's OpenRG Residential Gateway Software Platform for its New Integral xDSL IAD Product Family

Voice and Data Gateway Based on OpenRG for the Intel® IXP 225 Network Processor
San Jose, Calif., July 31, 2002ICET, a prominent Italian telecommunications manufacturer, and Jungo Software Technologies Inc., a leading provider of residential gateway software and technologies, today announced that ICET has started production of Its Integral xDSL IAD product line - a family of voice and data gateways that are based on Jungo's OpenRG residential gateway software platform.

ICET's Integral xDSL IAD family features a robust solution for integration of data and voice using xDSL over ATM networks and offering a modular solution to support different WAN, LAN and voice configurations. Powered by Jungo's OpenRG, ICET's IADs provide a wealth of broadband applications and services such as Internet sharing (NAT/PAT), VoDSL for connecting multiple phones to a single broadband connection (ELCP, CAS), Networking (DNS, DHCP), remote management (SNMP) and local management through a user friendly web based interface.

ICET's IADs are based on the Intel® IXP225 network processor, which is bundled with an optimized version of OpenRG, jointly developed by Intel and Jungo. The Intel IXP225 network processor is optimized for cost and power-sensitive applications and ideal for DSL modems, routers and residential gateways.

OpenRG's ARM® technology based VoDSL solution supports the current signaling standards, namely Channel Associated Signaling (CAS), and Common Channel for Signaling (CCS), based on ELCP. OpenRG conforms to all the market standards for VoDSL using AAL2 (BLES) namely, ATM Forum AF-VMOA-0145.000, ITU-T I.363.2, I.366.2, I.366.1, and ETSI-ELCP.
