Jungo Joins CableLabs® as Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Vendor. Jungo Network Security Architect is a Member of the CableHome 2.0 Security Focus Group
San Jose, Calif., August 20, 2002Jungo Software Technologies Inc., a leading provider of residential gateway software and technologies, today announced that it is participating in CableLabs® CableHome initiative to help define the CableHome specifications, and is participating in a royalty-free intellectual property rights (IPR) pool. Jungo network security architect has joined the CableHome 2.0 security Focus Group as an active member.
CableHome 1.0 introduces the specification that permits cable operators to provide consumers with a secure, high-quality home networking system that is easy to install, use and maintain. The specification is designed for the residential gateway device called the Home Access (HA) device, which acts as the single entry point into the home. CableHome 2.0 enhances CableHome 1.0, adding AudioVisual application support, advanced security features, and extended LAN capabilities.
Jungo's OpenRG provides the software technologies required for building a CableHome compliant device. OpenRG enables secure and managed services from the cable operator's network to the home network through a variety of cable modems/IADs and RG solutions. Through compliance with the CableHome™ specifications, vendors will be able to create products that are interoperable, and in turn, reduce costs, time to market and system complexity.
