Jungo has ported and optimized its Linux-based OpenRG software for the Conexant CX821xx development boards, providing customers with pre-integrated, hardware and software residential gateway platforms, per the agreement between the companies. The platform features a wide range of broadband-based applications and services such as IP sharing, home networking, network security (Stateful Packet Inspection), virtual private networking (VPN), remote management (web and SNMP-based), Universal Plug and Play and remote update capabilities.
"Conexant offers a family of cost-effective network processors that have the processing power to run a business-class firewall, giving OEMs and ODMs the ability to provide high-quality security products at affordable prices," said Nick Burd, director of DSL products for Conexant's Broadband Communications Segment for Conexant. "The compact, high-performance OpenRG software best utilizes the silicon capabilities to provide our customers a competitive edge in developing high-quality broadband applications such as routers, firewalls, switches and broadband gateways."
"Conexant offers a comprehensive line of chipsets for DSL modem and router manufacturers. The Conexant CX821xx DSL-ready HNP adds serial interface to an xDSL datapump. In combining all these features on a single chip, the CX821xx provides a cost-effective solution for residential/SOHO gateways, firewalls and DSL/IP routers.
Jungo's OpenRG is a residential gateway software platform that enables Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to bring broadband Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) such as Residential Gateways, SOHO Gateways and Integrated Access Devices (IADs) to market quickly.
