Texas Instruments Adds Jungo Linux Residential Gateway Software to Bluetooth-Enabled Cable Modem Solution

HOUSTON , November 16, 2000To give customers a choice of operating systems for its
Bluetooth-enabled cable solutions, Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) entered
into an agreement with Jungo Software Technologies Inc. to add Jungo's Linux residential
gateway software onto TI's broadband cable modems. The two companies will provide a
demonstration of this technology at the upcoming California Cable Television Association's
Western Show later this month (see www.jungo.com/openrg/products.html and www.ti.com/sc/cablemodem).
The demonstration will highlight TI's new Bluetooth-enabled cable modem reference design
using Jungo's OpenRG - a complete Linux-based residential gateway software platform. The demo
includes TI's DOCSIS 1.1 code running on Jungo's Linux based operating system, as well as data
over Bluetooth, Firewall, network address translation (NAT) virtual private network (VPN), web
based management, simple network protocol management (SNMP) and dynamic host configuration
protocol (DHCP).
