Jungo Releases OpenRG™ v2.1 Residential Gateway Software

CPE manufacturers can now integrate a wider range of broadband services and support emerging home networking standards

San Jose, Calif., October 29, 2002Jungo Software Technologies Inc., a leading provider of residential gateway software, today announced the release of OpenRG v2.1 - Jungo's embedded software platform for broadband access devices. The latest release allows CPE manufacturers to bring to market more advanced home networking devices that support a wider range of broadband services and emerging industry standards.

OpenRG v2.1 enhances the mature and proven infrastructure of OpenRG with the introduction of new applications and features, including, support for Linux 2.4, Multi Permanent Virtual Circuit (PVC), Multi Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) connections, remote upgrade with dual image, Universal Serial Bus (USB) master, Firewire, support for remote syslog server, enhanced network security through additional Application Level Gateways (ALGs) such as Quake I,II,III, AOL® Instant Messenger™ (AIM) and MSN® messenger with Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) support.

To assist Jungo's customers in testing and verification, Jungo has also developed complementary Network Management System (NMS) modules that include a Kerberos server and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) client, supporting Kerberos and Diffie Helman key exchange.
