City of Industry & San Jose, Calif., November 20, 2002GCT-Allwell Technology, a leading set top box manufacturer and Jungo Software Technologies Inc., a leading provider of residential gateway software, will demonstrate a CableHome-based residential and small office / home office (SOHO) wireless gateway at the BroadbandPlus tradeshow, which will be held from December 4-6, 2002, at the Anaheim Convention Center.
The Allwell Residential Gateway, RG100, is an integrated broadband access solution for the home or small office, and is powered by Jungo's OpenRG software for CableHome-based devices. In addition to providing Multiple System Operators (MSOs) with an opportunity to deploy a stand-alone CableHome-based device, RG100 provides cable users with the benefits of wireless local area network (LAN) connectivity through the 802.11b standard, and advanced Virtual Private Network (VPN) capabilities that allow secure connections to remote networks. Within a small office environment, RG100 can be configured as a VPN server to connect remote employees to the office network. RG100 can also securely connect remote/branch offices to larger corporate networks.
Additional features of RG100 include Network Address Port Translation (NAT/NAPT), Stateful Inspection Firewall, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) client and server, Domain Name Server (DNS), Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) agent v3 and remote upgrade.
"With RG100, Allwell is providing an excellent standards-based solution which is easy to configure and use," said Udi Yuhjtman, vice president of operations and business development. "In particular, this solution offers ideal broadband connectivity to telecommuters and work-at-home employees who need to connect to their corporate networks and access mission critical information, all within a secure environment."
"Jungo's leading OpenRG residential gateway software is one of the most sophisticated and robust software solutions on the market today," said Tony Kuo, chief executive officer of GCT-Allwell. "And with Jungo's recent introduction of support for CableHome-based devices, we are able to offer MSOs an interoperable gateway for secure home networking services that can be remotely configured and managed."
