WellTech Selects Jungo's OpenRG Software for New VoIP Gateway

Product development time shortened through use of Jungo's residential gateway software optimized for the Intel® IXP420 network processor

San Jose, Calif., Feb. 20, 2003Jungo® Software Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of residential gateway software, today announced that its OpenRG™ residential gateway software, optimized for the Intel® IXP420 network processor, will provide the core infrastructure for WellTech's new broadband Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) gateway.

OpenRG is a complete set of software technologies for residential gateways that enables the delivery of advanced broadband services and simplifies networking for broadband users and service providers. By choosing the combined hardware and software platform of OpenRG on the Intel® IXP420 network processor, WellTech, a leading manufacturer of VoIP and computer telephony solutions, has been able to simplify the product development cycle, focus on product customization and bring a high-performance VoIP gateway to market sooner.

With OpenRG integrated into its new VoIP gateway, WellTech is able to offer its customers a product that delivers advanced broadband services, secure networking, intuitive web-based management and remote upgrade capabilities. In addition, to enable voice services, the gateway supports leading VoIP industry standards, including H.323 and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). The gateway also offers networking over an Ethernet switch, USB 1.1 slave and wireless local area network (LAN) interfaces 802.11a and b.
