H230 Wireless Gateway for DSL/Cable Users Enables Enhanced Home Networking and Remote Management Capabilities

San Jose Calif. & TAIPEI, Taiwan, June 18, 2003 Jungo® Software Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of residential gateway software, and Kinpo Electronics (2312.TW), a leader in the 3C industry (Communications, Computers and Consumer electronics), today announced the introduction of H230, a new home and small office / home office (SOHO) wireless gateway, powered by Jungo's OpenRG™ residential gateway software.

The OpenRG software used in the H230 wireless gateway, provides broadband users with Plug and Play home networking, advanced routing, professional network security (Stateful Packet Inspection firewall), user-friendly web-based management and an option to remotely upgrade the software to deliver CableHome™-based services. H230 also offers a choice of Ethernet, wireless 802.11b and Universal Serial Bus (USB) local area network (LAN) interfaces, and can be seamlessly connected to existing DSL and DOCSIS® cable modems to provide broadband users with new networking services without requiring them to upgrade their existing access devices.

"To meet the growing demand for secure home networking services, we sought out the right infrastructure to enable us to produce a feature-rich and future-proof gateway for broadband subscribers," said Sinclair Kuo, President of Kinpo Electronics. "OpenRG's complete software platform provided us with the ideal infrastructure and enabled us to significantly reduce product development time and costs, and bring a robust and flexible solution to market."

H230 is based on Conexant's CX82100 home network processor and ARM940T™ core. Commenting on the latest design win for the OpenRG and CX82100 reference design, Nick Burd, Director of Broadband Products at Conexant Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CNXT) stated: "We are witnessing increased interest in the use of our silicon coupled with Jungo's OpenRG software, which provides wide residential gateway application support. This pre-integrated hardware and software package allows manufacturers, such as Kinpo, to concentrate on their own customized features and rapidly launch new products to meet their customers' requirements."

H230 is the latest device to be added to Kinpo's strong broadband access product range, which includes several designs developed for leading cable and DSL modem vendors. Kinpo, with over 10,000 employees and 7 manufacturing facilities in Thailand and China, possesses extensive design and engineering capabilities for mass production projects.

"Kinpo's impressive design and manufacturing facilities enable them to achieve exceptional product quality," said Udi Yuhjtman, VP Business Development of Jungo. "With the OpenRG-powered gateway already in advanced trials at a number of customers, we look forward to seeing wide deployments of H230 in 2003."
