Jungo's OpenRG Software Awarded VPNC Certification
Certification ensures that products based on OpenRG's VPN module are interoperable with other market-leading IPsec systems
SAN JOSE, Calif. - March 9, 2004Jungo® Software Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of residential and small office/home office (SOHO) gateway software, today announced that its widely deployed OpenRG™ software has been awarded VPNC certification, having passed the Interoperability Tests for IPsec systems.
VPNC (Virtual Private Network Consortium) is the international trade association for manufacturers in the VPN market. VPNC certification ensures that VPN products are interoperable with each other, following the standards set by The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF).
During the VPNC certification process, OpenRG was proved to be interoperable in both directions with all other IPsec systems on test. As a VPNC certified product, OpenRG now offers customer premise equipment (CPE) manufacturers a standards-based VPN software solution that can be deployed in a wide range of residential/SOHO gateways, wireless access points, cable/DSL modem routers and integrated access devices (IADs). Jungo also provides full Documentation Profiles for IPsec interoperability that can be used by Jungo's customers when certifying their devices.
"OpenRG's VPN implementation met our strict certification standards and now offers manufacturers peace of mind that their OpenRG-powered devices will be interoperable with other VPNC certified products," said Paul Hoffman, VPNC director.
OpenRG's VPN application supports IPsec, PPTP and L2TP. Together, these allow OpenRG-powered gateways to act as a VPN client, enabling a user to securely connect with remote computers without needing to run any additional PC-based VPN software; or as a VPN server, enabling remote users to connect to a home or business network from a remote location.
"By certifying OpenRG's VPN application our customers can be assured that our VPN meets the highest industry standards," said Udi Yuhjtman, Jungo's vice president of business development. "Manufacturers building VPN SOHO or residential gateways based on OpenRG are now assured an easy path to VPNC certification themselves."
