DSP Group Partners with Jungo to Develop
DECT ULE-Based Home Automation & Security Solution
Collaboration enables service providers to offer new revenue-generating services
SAN JOSE, Calif., February 13, 2012DSP Group®, Inc. (NASDAQ: DSPG), a leading global provider of wireless chipset solutions for converged communications at home, and Jungo Ltd., an NDS Group company and a leading provider of unified software for residential gateways, announced today the joint development of a home automation (HA) and monitoring solution based on DECT Ultra Low Energy (ULE) technology. DECT ULE characteristics such as ease of installation and configuration, long battery life, and extended coverage make it a natural choice for HA and monitoring. Implementation of simple, low-cost DECT ULE-based solutions enables service providers to offer a range of new revenue-generating subscriber services.
The robust joint solution brings together DSP Group's highly integrated DECT ULE- chipset and Jungo's OpenRG advanced middleware for residential gateways. By carrying out a simple software upgrade over the Internet, service providers that have already integrated DECT onto their home gateways can easily leverage existing capabilities to offer new control and monitoring services.
"We believe that now is the right time for service providers to introduce connected home services, including home automation as one of the main applications. The introduction of DECT ULE will allow service providers to increase their revenues with a range of home automation and monitoring services", said Rami Amit, CTO of Jungo. "We are pleased to be working with DSPG to offer an advanced platform for DECT enabled gateways based on our unified middleware for residential gateways, OpenRG one of the industry's leading solutions. This partnership further emphasizes Jungo's ability to supply service providers with advanced middleware for their entire home gateway installed base, coupled with connected home service enablers".
"We are delighted to be partnering with Jungo to offer new and superior solutions for the home automation and monitoring market," said Raz Kivelevich-Carmi, Senior Product Line Manager, DECT Home Automation and Security at DSP Group. "Our collaboration is a clear step forward for DECT ULE in general and for DSP Group in particular, as we build our ecosystem to address this fast-growing market."
