Levallois, France and San Jose, Ca March 16, 2009Jungo Ltd, an NDS Group company, a leading provider of software solutions for residential gateways, and Médiamétrie, a leading specialist in media research, today announced that they have joined forces to create a unique mechanism for collecting data relating to user habits and preferences in today's digital home. The new software solution resides in the triple-play residential gateway and enables service providers to target new service offerings tailored to the subscriber's specific profile.

The solution is centred around HomeSense TM , a unique software solution developed by Jungo which enables the real-time collection of data on user preferences, while complying with local market regulations. The residential gateway is effectively the intersection point between the network and the household. Thus it has a unique view of the entire digital traffic flow that is being carried on all the multiple devices within the home. This traffic includes the complete range of broadband services including internet browsing, mobile telephony, IPTV, network gaming, VoIP, etc.

HomeSense, part of Jungo's OpenRG TM residential gateway software, can extract user information which, coupled with Médiametrie's expertise on behaviour analysis, enables the operator to provide better services to subscribers, and to offer new features targeted to the subscriber's specific profile. Data can be collected from a broad cross-section of the installed base, rather than relying on just a small focus group. In addition, Jungo's HomeSense provides full identification of the type, model and status of all home network devices and performs statistical analysis of all media uses offered by digital access.

Jungo gateway software collects the raw data logs on user consumption in real time, while the Mediametrie tools correlate the data and add a layer of intelligence that turns these raw logs into accurate audience measurement datasheets for use by service providers. This unique offering constitutes an important step towards enabling the enhanced analysis of habits and preferences in digital households - benefiting not only service providers, but advertisers, and, additionally, consumers, who will gain access to content and services that will be more likely to appeal to them.

Laurent Battais, Performance and Cross-media Director at Médiamétrie, said: "The technology developed by Jungo is particularly innovative and interesting, as it resides at the crossroads between the network and the household. It enables a more in-depth assessment of the habits and tastes in the digital home."

Nicolas Decitre, France and Benelux Business Development Director at Jungo, added: "This solution is set to appeal to service providers in France and abroad. By offering a joint solution with Mediametrie we have true ability to offer service providers ongoing, real time information on their users' preferences."
