Marvell and Jungo Team-up to Introduce Residential Gateway Reference Platform for the Always-on Connected Home
PARIS, FRANCE Broadband World Forum, Stand H3 - October 10, 2010Marvell (NASDAQ:MRVL), a worldwide leader in integrated silicon solutions, and Jungo Ltd, a leading provider
of software solutions for residential gateways, today announced that the two companies have
integrated Jungo's OpenRG™ residential gateway software and Marvell's AVANTA™
Application Gateway-on-a-Chip (GoC). With the new residential gateway reference platform,
service providers and network operators will have easier access to always-on home services
and value-added applications while increasing average revenue per user.
Newest to Marvell's AVANTA family of broadband optical solutions, the Application GoC
integrates Marvell's flagship 2 GHz Application Processor, optical broadband, with
smartphone-like power management, and Ethernet switch and transceiver integration. The
AVANTA Application GoC is the first to introduce Universal PON (UPON) interface with
seamless auto-sensing and auto-configuration between ITU-GPON, IEEE-EPON, Chinaspecific
EPPON, and Point-2-Point Gigabit Ethernet.
The UPON residential gateway platform powered by Jungo's OpenRG software offers amanaged gateway with intelligent data routing with quality of service (QoS), carrier-class
VoIP, IPv6 support, and virtual private networks with firewalls. The platform also provides
seamless support for multiple wide area network (WAN) and local area network (LAN)
technologies, including EPON, GPON Gigabit Ethernet, USB and WiFi. The modular
software architecture is easily tailored to offer additional capabilities and services.
