Jungo Adds Advanced Print Server Technologies to OpenRG Software Platform for Home and SOHO Gateways

OEMs/ODMs can now meet needs of small businesses and connected homes, with an all-in-one platform combining print server, file server, wireless LAN security, firewall and VPN

 SAN JOSE, Calif. – January 29, 2004

Jungo® Software Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of residential and small office/home office (SOHO) gateway software, today announced that it has added advanced print server technologies to its OpenRG™ software platform, to enrich its powerful suite of networking applications for homes and small businesses. Additional OpenRG applications, such as file server, wireless LAN security (WPA, 802.1x and RADIUS client), firewall and VPN, are already deployed in leading gateways, and the introduction of Jungo’s advanced print server now allows OEMs/ODMs to further expand their product range for the residential and small business markets with OpenRG’s single-source solution.

System vendors who integrate Jungo’s OpenRG into their networking devices, are able to offer small businesses an attractive all-in-one networking platform. With Jungo’s print server, file server, security and wireless applications bundled in a gateway, employees in small offices can easily deploy secure wireless networks, and can convert a simple USB printer into a network printer and a simple USB storage device into a managed network storage device.

In addition, the new print server makes printer installation and administration simpler for end-users. Built-in hot-plug support automatically detects the printer when it is connected to a network and OpenRG’s user-friendly, graphical web-based management allows users to manage multiple simultaneous print jobs and determine the printer status for troubleshooting. Jungo’s print server module also supports both the LPD protocol and Microsoft Printer Sharing for easy installation on Windows® 95/98/2000/XP.

“As the market demand for more intelligent gateways increases, it is our goal to continuously provide our ODM and OEM customers with more applications and technologies to drive their innovation and success,” said Udi Yuhjtman, Jungo’s vice president of business development. “By adding the print server to our rich list of applications available in OpenRG’s single-source software solution, our customers can easily expand the features they include in new devices and quickly bring to market more competitive products.”
