This software has been written for the Internet Software Consortium by Ted Lemon in cooperation with Vixie Enterprises.
This client was substantially modified and enhanced by Elliot Poger for use on Linux while he was working on the MosquitoNet project at Stanford.
The current version owes much to Elliot’s Linux enhancements, but was substantially reorganized and partially rewritten by Ted Lemon so as to use the same networking framework that the Internet Software Consortium DHCP server uses. Much system-specific configuration code was moved into a shell script so that as support for more operating systems is added, it will not be necessary to port and maintain system-specific configuration code to these operating systems – instead, the shell script can invoke the native tools to accomplish the same purpose.
firewall (Jungo Firewall)
http_parse is responsible for parsing the HTTP headers.
Copied from tproxy.c from the transproxy package by John Saunders available from ftp://ftp.nlc.net.au/pub/unix/transproxy/ Here is the original comment from the top of the file. tproxy.c:
This is a transparent proxy server. It can be started from inetd to service HTTP requests, or run as a stand-alone daemon. HTTP requests are transparently accepted and passed to the WWW proxy cache for handling. The HTTP request line is modified into a form usable by the WWW proxy cache. The destination WWW site name is extracted from the HTTP headers to avoid DNS lookups. NORTHLINK COMMUNICATIONS PTY LTD – BSD Style License.

Definitions for RIPv2 routing process.
This code is based on the 4.4BSD `routed` daemon, with extensions to support:
RIPv2, including variable length subnet masks. aggregate routes in the kernel tables. aggregate advertised routes. maintain spare routes for faster selection of another gateway when the current gateway dies. timers on routes with second granularity so that selection of a new route does not wait 30-60 seconds. tolerance of static routes. tell the kernel hop counts do not advertise if ipforwarding=0
The vestigial support for other protocols has been removed. There is no likelihood that IETF RIPv1 or RIPv2 will ever be used with other protocols. The result is far smaller, faster, cleaner, and perhaps understandable.
The accumulation of special flags and kludges added over the many years have been simplified and integrated.
ssh (Secure Shell)
This file is part of the OpenSSH software.
The licences which components of this software fall under are as follows. First, we will summarize and say that all components are under a BSD licence, or a licence more free than that.
OpenSSH contains no GPL code. Copyright (c) 1995 Tatu Ylonen ylo@cs.hut.fi , Espoo, Finland
All rights reserved
As far as I am concerned, the code I have written for this software
can be used freely for any purpose. Any derived versions of this
software must be clearly marked as such, and if the derived work is
incompatible with the protocol description in the RFC file, it must be
called by a name other than “ssh” or “Secure Shell”.
[Tatu continues]
However, I am not implying to give any licenses to any patents or
copyrights held by third parties, and the software includes parts that
source code is used in accordance with the relevant license agreements
[However, none of that term is relevant at this point in time. All of
these restrictively licenced software components which he talks about
have been removed from OpenSSH:
- RSA is no longer included, found in the OpenSSL library
- IDEA is no longer included, its use is deprecated
- DES is now external, in the OpenSSL library
- GMP is no longer used, and instead we call BN code from OpenSSL
- Zlib is now external, in a library
- The make-ssh-known-hosts script is no longer included
- TSS has been removed
- MD5 is now external, in the OpenSSL library
- RC4 support has been replaced with ARC4 support from OpenSSL
- Blowfish is now external, in the OpenSSL library
Note that any information and cryptographic algorithms used in this
software are publicly available on the Internet and at any major
bookstore, scientific library, and patent office worldwide. More
information can be found e.g. at "http://www.cs.hut.fi/crypto".
The legal status of this program is some combination of all these
permissions and restrictions. Use only at your own responsibility.
You will be responsible for any legal consequences yourself; I am not
making any claims whether possessing or using this is legal or not in
your country, and I am not taking any responsibility on your behalf.
NO WARRANTY
BECAUSE THE PROGRAM IS LICENSED FREE OF CHARGE, THERE IS NO WARRANTY FOR THE PROGRAM, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW. EXCEPT WHEN OTHERWISE STATED IN WRITING THE COPYRIGHT HOLDERS AND/OR OTHER PARTIES PROVIDE THE PROGRAM "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO THE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF THE PROGRAM IS WITH YOU. SHOULD THE PROGRAM PROVE DEFECTIVE, YOU ASSUME THE COST OF ALL NECESSARY SERVICING, REPAIR OR CORRECTION.
IN NO EVENT UNLESS REQUIRED BY APPLICABLE LAW OR AGREED TO IN WRITING WILL ANY COPYRIGHT HOLDER, OR ANY OTHER PARTY WHO MAY MODIFY AND/OR REDISTRIBUTE THE PROGRAM AS PERMITTED ABOVE, BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR DAMAGES, INCLUDING ANY GENERAL, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE PROGRAM (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA OR DATA BEING RENDERED INACCURATE OR LOSSES SUSTAINED BY YOU OR THIRD PARTIES OR A FAILURE OF THE PROGRAM TO OPERATE WITH ANY OTHER PROGRAMS), EVEN IF SUCH HOLDER OR OTHER PARTY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

#include
SYSLOG print message on log file
This routine looks a lot like printf, except that it outputs to the log file instead of the standard output. Also:
- adds a timestamp,
- prints the module name in front of the message,
- has some other formatting types (or will sometime),
- adds a newline on the end of the message.
The output of this routine is intended to be read by syslogd(8).
Author: Eric Allman
Modified to use UNIX domain IPC by Ralph Campbell
Patched March 12, 1996 by A. Ian Vogelesang vogelesang@hdshq.com
- to correct the handling of message & format string truncation,
- to visibly tag truncated records to facilitate
investigation of such Bad Things with grep, and,
- to correct the handling of case where “write”
returns after writing only part of the message.
Rewritten by Martin Mares mj@atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz on May 14, 1997
- better buffer overrun checks.
- special handling of “%m” removed as we use GNU sprintf which handles
it automatically.
- Major code cleanup.

Modified, Sun Feb 20 2000, kalium@gmx.de Added fix operation allowing to reorder primary/extended partition entries within the partition table. Some programs or OSes have problems using a partition table with entries not ordered according to their positions on disk. Munged this patch to also make it work for logical partitions. aeb, 2000-02-20.
