Technical Document #124

Doc ID: 124
Product: WinDriver
Version: 6.23 and below

When trying to intsall WinDriver on my PC I got the following error:
16-bit MS-DOS Subsystem path to the program that you are trying to start or install C:\Winnt\System32\autoexec.nt
The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.
Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

Follow the instructions at: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324767 in order to acquire/repair autoexec.nt. Note that instead of expanding the file from the OS installation CD, you can also copy it from the %windir%\repair directory.

This error should not occur with newer versions of WinDriver (later than 6.23), which will use a newer version of InstallShield. If you encounter this problem with such newer versions, please notify Jungo Support.
