• Jungo’s MediaCore multimedia middleware now integrated with the Aha platform
• Car models equipped with the joint solution to be available from 2014
Tel Aviv, ISRAEL, Sep 11th, 2013 – Jungo Connectivity Ltd., a leading provider of automotive connectivity and multimedia software solutions, today announced the integration of its MediaCore multimedia middleware into the Aha™ by HARMAN service.
The joint solution enables the simple integration of Aha into In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems from a wide range of manufacturers. It will be a standard MediaCore feature and available in a variety of car models from 2014.
MediaCore, from Jungo Connectivity, is an automotive-grade multimedia middleware that facilitates the rapid development of embedded multimedia players for IVI systems. It supports playback and distribution of media in the car and provides connectivity to all the different smartphones, protocols and applications needed for an enhanced IVI experience
Aha by HARMAN is a next-generation infotainment experience that uses the HARMAN Cloud Platform to enable Web-based content – including music, news, social feeds, sports, podcasts and audio books – in vehicles using a radio-like format that is familiar to drivers. Also available as a standalone application for iOS and Android smartphones, Aha synchs with the car’s IVI system and uses the in-dash controls.
MediaCore will allow the Aha platform to use an intuitive API from Jungo to facilitate the simple integration of Aha into IVI systems from a range of manufacturers. Integration and deployment of systems will be supported by a technical team comprising specialists from both companies.
“This agreement with Aha by HARMAN is an important milestone for Jungo Connectivity and demonstrates our position as a leading innovator in the IVI industry,” said Jungo Connectivity CEO Ophir Herbst. “The combination of Jungo’s platform expertise and the unique Aha application offers customers the best infotainment experience while driving.”
“Jungo’s MediaCore solution will enable our Tier 1 partners and OEMs to offer Aha on an accelerated basis, furthering our goal of integrating Aha into as many new vehicles as possible,” said Woody Arnold, VP of Engineering, Aha by HARMAN. “Since many of the OEMs already use the Jungo middleware for connectivity and multimedia, this partnership will make implementation of Aha’s functionality faster and more plug-and-play from the outset.”
